I was looking through my archives files a few weeks ago and found this video I did for Pitchshifter back in 2000 (Made after doing the ‘Hidden Agenda’ one). I used a few shots from the first video and added in some scenes I had filmed in the streets of London and Bristol. Had a laugh reading the comments about the video on Youtube :
‘It’s all about shrooms and LSD’,  ’video is pure drug’, ‘brain goes to small pieces!!”, ‘Full screen, 1080p. I went cross eyed and don’t remember what I saw. But I know when I came to, my head was bobbing up and down.”

I did this image in 3D back in 2004 – Experimenting and having fun creating simple objects with CINEMA 4D which I still use today – Great 3D software. This is rendered straight out of Cinema 4D – no photoshop involved.

I finally went to see Tron Legacy in 3D ! I’ve been waiting to see this film for ages and I thought it was absolutely great. The film works well with the father-son story and manages to link well to the original film with giving it a all new identity. All the sets are just amazing and all the gladiatorial action and light cycles chases are mind-blowing. The use of 3D really works on this sort of film and they didn’t over do it too much and kept the 3D for the action parts. I liked the idea that for the first 20 minutes of the film there is no 3D at all. (it all becomes 3D once we enter the grid). This is great Science-Fiction using amazing technology to create unseen places and worlds!! I just love it and I would love to go and spend a few weeks there on vacation. The design teams must have had so much fun creating all the machines, weapons, worlds, costumes, sets, scenes etc… oh and of course Jeff Bridges as usual is brilliant (but I was not totally convinced by his young 3D-rendered ’80s’ version). ENTER THE GRID !

I found this funny quote on Wikipedia : “A weird promotional video was made for Hidden Agenda and it was made completely out of CGI. It depicts a strange looking spaceship in space then going down to earth with distorted real life images of a street and in America and a picture of Big Ben in London and the Eiffel Tower in Paris and with Images of CGI aliens at the end.”

I did the ‘Hidden Agenda’ video for Pitchshifter more than 10 years ago ! I spent many months working on this 3D animation music video which was originally only going to be used on the enhanced-CD part of the album but ended up being used for the promo of the album ‘Deviant’ and even showed several times on MTV. The video was all done using the software BRYCE 3D and I edited it and did some post-production using Adobe Premiere 4. This was my first project with Pitchshifter and the start of a very long collaboration over many years designing all the next album and single covers, the DVD PSIentology, flyers, posters, website and live projection videos. I then got involved in many other graphic design and video projects with many of band side-projects of members of Pitchshifter  (This Is Menace, Victory Pill, dRAWBACKS and Doheny).

I’ve been working on some 3D motion designs for Brian Transeau, the american music producer, composer, audio technician, singer and songwriter better known by his stage name, BT. He is an artist in the electronic genre. BT has produced and written for artists such as Peter Gabriel, ‘N Sync, Sting, Blake Lewis, Tori Amos and Tiesto. As a film composer he has worked on films such as The Fast and the Furious, Cars and Monster. The videos I am producing will be used for live projections during his tour.
