Shellshock: the four-piece band from Watford, UK who fuse metal with drum and bass blastbeats into their own unique, raucous ‘E Metal’ sound. Formed in 2000 by four driven individuals who wanted to strive to create a unique, flawless sound in music by fusing the styles of dark DnB and aggressive, in your face Metal. Their pulsating, energy driven live shows soon saw them ramming local venues to the rafters. More highly successful UK shows followed with the band being offered to support Skindred on a 26 date tour. The fiery live show attracted the attention of the rock press.

Shellshock MAY 2012 : announce the release of their 2nd full length album BORN FROM DECLINE featuring the single/vide release THE MAZE, along with 11 other examples of E-Metal brutality. BORN FROM DECLINE is available to buy at iTunes, Amazon and our own E-Store and in stores worldwide now! The album is produced by Justin Hill (Sikth).

The design of the album (10 page booklet) – first shows a city landscape of destruction from a far distance and then each double page of the booklet shows a closer part of the city till we end up inside a building with the actual band. I had a lot of fun designing the artwork – It was a long process and it was great to work closely with the band – discussing ideas etc.

The album is amazing ! I really recommend it ! If you are fans of bands like Pitchshifter, Fear Factory, Sikth … YOU WILL LOVE THIS ALBUM ! Listen to the previews on iTunes ! My personal favorite track is Damnation.

Here is the album cover artwork I have designed for the new LASTWIND album called ‘Return of a Sonic assassin’. The album will be out on FLICKNIFE Records at the end of May 2012. I created this artwork for the upcoming first album from young brazilian music composer/remixer called Monstter. He had a very clear idea and precise brief on how he wanted his artwork produced. This is the final image which apparently was exactly what he had in mind and he went off happy and chuffed with his artwork. Happy client ! happy day !

Here is the next artwork cover I created for Music Licensing company Gothic Storm. This one is called EPIC EUPHORIA. Warriors, swords, castles, epic battles, destruction, blood, fights, knights … You have the music for this kind of films or scenes on this digipak. I have just completed working on the next 4 covers for the next releases by Gothic Storm which is a boutique trailer music library based in UK.  They have been used on trailers for films like Rise of the planet of the apes, In time, Limitless, Unknown, The Green hornet… I had previously designed the first 4 digipaks for them earlier this year (Drone Worlds, Slams, Relentless Percussion and Relentless Risers). Here is one of my recent album artworks I have designed for the amazing scottish electro-industrial-cybergoth-glam-dance-orange-punk band called METALTECH ! Their first much anticipated album is called ‘Burn Your Planet’ and is OUT NOW via Edinburgh based music label Alextronic Records. Sunday is the day when I go digging in my work archives and retrieve some old projects hidden away behind some dusty folders. I found this album project and the artwork I did  for a french nu-metal band called HEADUP. This was back in 2006. This was their only album as they split up the next year. I have recently finished the artwork for METALTECH’s album “Burn Your Planet” - The mighty electro-indus-metal band from Edinburgh finally release the much anticipated “Burn Your Planet” album on 15th of august 2011 on Alex Tronic Records. The album launch party is on the 14th of august with a live show downstairs in the Cabaret Voltaire venue with support from special guest PLASTIC NOOSE and then a after party upstairs in the Speakeasy. It will be in the middle of the Edinburgh festival so if you are around and want a come to a mental night – Come and join the event and the party – check out a great band on stage – discover the METALTECH album and have a few many drinks. Faltones are a rock band from Spain and are currently finishing recording their first album. Here is the cover artwork I have designed for them. The band hired me to create the artwork and they mentioned they really liked my portfolio and my style of designs but they didn’t have any precise ideas or brief for the album art apart that the name was going to be ‘Wake up’. They didn’t want anything to have something obvious like a clenched fist so I came up with this idea which they really liked BUT… they had a little concern ! They told me that something similar had be done on a album cover for a famous spanish band a few years ago (2007) ! I was surprised and felt really unlucky about this one so I asked them to send me a link so I could see it and here you go .. check it out for yourself here and see what you think? : CLICK

After trying a few alternative designs – they just really liked this artwork (which is so different from the other spanish band cover anyway) so at the end they decided to go with it … I could not agree more !!!

Faltones – Live

In 2008, I was happy to work and to collaborate with tech-glitch-electro-punks dRAWBACKS who are brothers Dan and Tim Rayner + Alex Baker on drums. I was hired to design their new logo, to create all the artwork concept for the album ‘Blacklight‘ + and to set up their website. Now 3 years later dRAWBACKS have finally announced their 2011 come-back ! Yo ! Great news and I am very excited about this and I can’t wait to see/hear more. I am pleased to announce that five CDs I have designed are featured in the new book edited by MONSA publications called ‘Graphic Beats Independent Record Covers and Packaging’. They have collected a large number of covers from all over the world in which we can find an enormous range of graphic images from dozens of artists and music genres. My artwork and designs included in the book are the ones I did for dRAWBACKS, PPMusic, This That The Other, Skin The Pig and The Magic Theatre. The book regroups a total of 50 artists and some really amazing and creative beautiful work from graphic designers I really love like Khomatech (Scorn, The Blood of Heroes) , You Are Beautiful (Devil’s Gun), The Designers Republic (Warp Records), Buro Destruct (Deetron), Non-Format (Delphic), Echo DesignLab (Korn) and many many more.
