Shellshock: the four-piece band from Watford, UK who fuse metal with drum and bass blastbeats into their own unique, raucous ‘E Metal’ sound. Formed in 2000 by four driven individuals who wanted to strive to create a unique, flawless sound in music by fusing the styles of dark DnB and aggressive, in your face Metal. Their pulsating, energy driven live shows soon saw them ramming local venues to the rafters. More highly successful UK shows followed with the band being offered to support Skindred on a 26 date tour. The fiery live show attracted the attention of the rock press.

Shellshock MAY 2012 : announce the release of their 2nd full length album BORN FROM DECLINE featuring the single/vide release THE MAZE, along with 11 other examples of E-Metal brutality. BORN FROM DECLINE is available to buy at iTunes, Amazon and our own E-Store and in stores worldwide now! The album is produced by Justin Hill (Sikth).

The design of the album (10 page booklet) – first shows a city landscape of destruction from a far distance and then each double page of the booklet shows a closer part of the city till we end up inside a building with the actual band. I had a lot of fun designing the artwork – It was a long process and it was great to work closely with the band – discussing ideas etc.

The album is amazing ! I really recommend it ! If you are fans of bands like Pitchshifter, Fear Factory, Sikth … YOU WILL LOVE THIS ALBUM ! Listen to the previews on iTunes ! My personal favorite track is Damnation.

I was looking through my archives files a few weeks ago and found this video I did for Pitchshifter back in 2000 (Made after doing the ‘Hidden Agenda’ one). I used a few shots from the first video and added in some scenes I had filmed in the streets of London and Bristol. Sunday is DOSE OLDIES day ! Here are a few images I created back in 2002 for Pitchshifter. They have elements and design parts taken from the album ‘PSI’ artwork and these were used as promo shots and desktop pics. The 3D logo and PSI logo were rendered with CINEMA 4D.

DOLDIES DAY ! Virusology is a serie of images I first did back about 10 years ago and some of them ended up being used on a poster for a multimedia festival called ‘CreaClick’ (in south of France) and some other images ended up being animated and used for Pitchshifter live video projections and on the P.S.Ientology DVD (Animated menus and on the home menu). I used Bryce 3D and then Cinema 4D to create the 3D virus and various elements then over to photoshop for textures and composition. I also set up a website for PSI Records and Pitchshifter for the release of the DVD (back in 2004) and created a trailer using the animated virus – Check it out here >> CLICK

After designing earthtone9‘s album “Inside, Embers Glow…” (in 2010) I am happy to announce that I will designing the artwork for the next earthtone9 EP which is being released in May 2011 during the upcoming UK shows. Also THIS IS MENACE (the supergroup made up of members from no less than 19 bands – including Killing Joke, Funeral  For a Friend, New Model Army, Fightstar, Napalm Death, Therapy?, Hundred Reasons, Carcass, Sixth,  New Model Army, Amen, The Ghost of a Thousand, Murder One and Pitchshifter) have announced a huge give-away in support of the reformation and upcoming tour. They are offering up a FREE album (or DVD) to the first 100 people through the door at every one of the upcoming earthtone9 shows.

I also did the design for both THIS IS MENACE albums (No end in Sight in 2005 and The Scene is dead in 2007) and did all the authoring, designs and animations for the DVD (Emotion Sickness)… So you will be really getting your DOSE during this tour !

Back in 2004 I worked on the Pitchshifter Official DVD project for several months. I had to create the artwork, do the 3D animations and animated menus for the DVD,  do the post-prod on the videos and all the authoring. The DVD contains a full live in Nottingham (13 tracks) and lots of bonus material like the making-of the P.S.I album, music videos, backstage interviews, photo gallery, discography and exclusive extras with videos from This Is Menace, The Blueprint and dRAWBACKS. I found this funny quote on Wikipedia : “A weird promotional video was made for Hidden Agenda and it was made completely out of CGI. It depicts a strange looking spaceship in space then going down to earth with distorted real life images of a street and in America and a picture of Big Ben in London and the Eiffel Tower in Paris and with Images of CGI aliens at the end.”

I did the ‘Hidden Agenda’ video for Pitchshifter more than 10 years ago ! I spent many months working on this 3D animation music video which was originally only going to be used on the enhanced-CD part of the album but ended up being used for the promo of the album ‘Deviant’ and even showed several times on MTV. The video was all done using the software BRYCE 3D and I edited it and did some post-production using Adobe Premiere 4. This was my first project with Pitchshifter and the start of a very long collaboration over many years designing all the next album and single covers, the DVD PSIentology, flyers, posters, website and live projection videos. I then got involved in many other graphic design and video projects with many of band side-projects of members of Pitchshifter  (This Is Menace, Victory Pill, dRAWBACKS and Doheny).
