Here is the poster for the LASTWIND ’Over the top’ UK tour in March 2013. Do go and check them out! I highly recommend getting your tickets in advance. They have 2 bands as support on each date. LASTWIND (Ex-Hawkwind) was formed by Paul Hayles in 2006 and toured England supporting HAWKWIND that autumn. Due to Paul’s other commitments the band was very quiet until he started recording demos in 2011 which led to the new album and the formation of a new line up in 2012. Album ‘Return of a Sonic Assassin’ was out in June 2012 on Flicknife Records. More infos about the band, photos, videos, merch, gig tickets and a press kit >> go to the official website here >> CLICK

The Karnival Earthtone9 Deck was created to celebrate the career of UK post-metal act earthtone9 and the deck’s artwork was directly inspired by the band’s new album design which will be released early 2013. The Bicycle Karnival Earthtone9 Deck also represents the first Karnival Deck to be printed with an all-over, edge to edge black design. The faces of all the cards have been redesigned to ensure that the value pips really ‘pop’ from the card. Check out photos of the deck in the portfolio here >> CLICK and you can order a high quality Karnival Earthtone9 poster design in the DOSE shop here >> CLICK

The anticipated Celldweller full-length album, Wish Upon A Blackstar will be officially released on June 12, 2012. The expansive 16 track album has been years in the making and I actually started working on the artwork for this album almost 3 years ago. When I came up with the concept for Celldweller of creating one large image and splitting them up into chapters and revealing at each release a new part of the artwork, I thought of how to to do this and I had to start with creating the central and final piece which was going to be the blackstar and then work backwards and create the full artwork. I went through many versions and experimented a lot before getting to this final cover which has many details. The Deluxe Edition of the album features the long-awaited final scene from my series of images from the original digital album chapters. A quick design I did (thanks to KJ Gould for submitting me the idea) to send over my respect to all the people uniting in the communities to do everything to clean up the streets after the latest riots emerging in London and other british cities. Facebook and Twitter are being used to mobilise volunteers to help clean up the damage caused. You can join in on the RIOT CLEANUP website who have used my design on their page and find out more infos about it all here >> CLICK

This image-face was a detail of my artwork ‘Why Not?‘ which I created back in 2006. I sold many of them as posters back then and it seemed that the little dude with his lovely face had a bit of success – I named him the ‘dead head’ to describe him on the poster. A few years after I created a promo sticker for DOSEprod with this image and started to give them and send them around and stick them up everywhere I could… it was the beginning ! It has now begin my logo and symbol for DOSEprod. Since last year I have done many t-shirts, badges and stickers with the Deadhead image and the little fella is starting to be recognized in the streets ! More guerilla art projects on the go – More stickers, tees and surprises soon up in the DOSEprodSHOP (opening in july). In the meantime DeadHead is now on Facebook so if you want to join in and like him (or hate him)… it’s so easy .. just CLICK HERE
Danny Boyle’s Trainspotting film is 15 years old. What a great film !! I remember coming to Edinburgh the first time in 2002 and having that film in my mind. I also remember the first time I saw the film poster campaign because it really had a great visual communication campaign which just hit you in the face. I saw it at the Waterloo station in London in early 1996 – huge posters everywhere announcing this new film expected to arrive … 23:02:96. The poster campaign was created by the design company Stylorouge (based in London) who got inspiration from the individual character poster for the film Reservoir Dogs (they presented each character.. Mr Orange, Mr Brown etc…). Then they used the idea of train station board with numbering each character. Then they used the colour orange mixed with black & white photography and to complete they chose to use the most famous font of the century : HELVETICA. It’s such a strong design identity for a film ! it just works great and still works great today.. 15 years after. CHOOSE LIFE !
Here is one of my latest personal artwork I finished last week and I called it Punktopus. I rarely have enough time to do personal artwork but I do manage sometimes to get into something and once I have the idea/concept in my mind and once I get started I know I must get it finished at one point. I’ll probably get this printed as a big poster and get it framed to see how it looks like on a big format and on paper.
This is a new remixed version of both ‘The Death and resurrection show’ and ‘Souls are Recycled’ which I adapted to a landscape format and then got into working on some new textures and new details. This is going to be available soon as Limited editions prints on a website I have recently joined – I’ll give you all the info very soon ! Exciting stuff !
